A 42-year-old woman has spoken out after being accused of reportedly changing into a goat at Esereso-Akyease in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.
After being captured at midnight in the guise of a goat at Akyease, Janet Abena Serwah supposedly changed into a human.
The incident occurred as a result of the town’s decision to trap free-range animals, particularly at midnight, to prevent damage of people’ belongings, said Kwame Frimpong, chairman of the local unit committee.
He asserts that after finishing their work, they noticed a goat dozing off on a seat in front of a stall.
They wriggled their way into the goat’s trap when it abruptly changed into Janet Serwah, who was nearly naked with five beads around her waist and long hair.
Despite being from the area, Janet Serwah rents a property close by.
She informed them she got lost and was supposed to be in Kumasi, not Akyease, when they questioned her, much to their amazement.
Kwame Frimpong claims that the woman struck him with her nails, bruising his arm.
In an interview with Nhyira FM’s Ewiase Mu Nsem, Eno Serwah, as she is affectionately known, denied transforming into a goat but acknowledged the committee members had seen her at 1:00am at Akyease.
She claimed to have gone to bed at her cottage, over two kilometers from Akyease, at around 9:00 p.m., but she was unsure of how she got there.
She says it might be a disease.
Eno Serwah claims that since the accusations, her second-hand apparel sales have decreased.
