We’re our own enemies – Asamoah Gyan posts cryptic message on social media

Uncertainty surrounds what the seasoned striker is specifically alluding to in his article, which was published only days before Ghana’s World Cup selection was revealed for Qatar 2022.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced on Thursday that Black Stars head coach Otto Addo will reveal his final World Cup roster on Monday, November 14, 2022.

The 26-man roster for the competition will be revealed at 11:00 am at the Multichoice office in Accra, according to a tweet from the FA.

Since Addo announced a 55-man provisional team last week in advance of his final selection, there have been numerous rumors.

Reports from local journalists have mooted some of the players who will be dropped, with Joseph Paintsil, Majeed Ashimeru and Jeffrey Schlupp believed to be among those axed. Gyan’s post on Twitter didn’t specify what or who exactly he was targeting, as he wrote: “We are our own enemies. SMH. Oh Dabi Dabi.”

However, it will be remembered that the 36-year-old criticized the Black Stars’ technical staff in March after Ashimeru was left off the team to play Nigeria in the World Cup playoffs.

He said at the time that Ashimeru should have been on the team since only Thomas Partey was superior than him.

“After @Thomaspartey22, this guy @MajeedAshimeru is the best midfielder in Ghana, PERIOD. I have been silent, but this nonsense has to end. The former Sunderland striker yelled on Twitter, “Smh.

During the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Ghana has confirmed that he will work as a pundit for Supersport.
