When his former protege Kelvyn Boy surfaced during a recent appearance on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz show, dancehall musician Stonebwoy responded with an adage.
Stonebwoy chose to respond with a proverb when host Andy Dosty asked him about letting sleeping dogs lay.
I’m reluctant to say it. People are aware of their starting points for ascents and descents. Don’t be deceived by the space in between. Let the sages be sages. However, be cautious and avoid being duped while doing so, Stonebwoy said.
When Kelvyn Boy was signed to the dancehall musician’s record label, the dispute between him and the head of Bhimnation began.
2019 saw Stonebwoy cut ways with his two new signees, O.V. and Kelvyn Boy, as well as his previous manager Blakk Cedi.
After several interviews revealed tension within their camp, Kelvyn Boy was officially terminated from the label in a statement.
When Kelvyn Boy joined Stonebwoy’s label, he also revealed that he paid for the majority of his music videos. Subsequent statements warned Stonebwoy to cease disparaging his company.
It was rumored that arguments between Burniton Music’s owner and his protégé Kelvyn Boy were the cause of their breakup.
The “Mia” singer claimed during an interview with Hitz FM that Stonebwoy’s humor helped him gain possibilities and notoriety.
