Video shows moment man catches toddler falling from 6th floor of building (Video)

An image of a guy in China’s Zhejiang province catching a kid who had fallen from a sixth-floor apartment window has gone viral.

The guy is seen on July 19 chatting on the phone as he runs towards the front of the building, temporarily falling, in CCTV footage that China’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Zhao Lijiang posted on

Twitter on Friday. The youngster is then fast slipping into his arms as he turns to gaze up.

The three-year-old child can be seen slipping out of the window and soon falling to the ground in the building’s CCTV footage, which is cut to.

The youngster was released from the Tongxiang Second People’s Hospital on Friday after undergoing treatment there.

According to the man, he heard a crash coming from the apartment building’s roof and glanced up to see the young child falling out of the window. He added that it was only instinct, and he felt fortunate to have caught the girl in time.

Zhao, who referred to the Good Samaritan as “heroes among us” in a Twitter post, was one of the Weibo users who praised the man as a “hero.”

Tribute to everyday heroes, a user commented.

Another user advised “for parents with children, put a protective window or window safety valve to your home.”
