Tema-Accra railway shuttle service to resume work

The Tema-Accra passenger train service, which was temporarily interrupted for restoration work, will resume on Monday, July 18, 2022, according to a statement from the management of Ghana Railway Company Limited (GRCL).

The Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA) and GRCL completed a final joint inspection on July 7, 2022, to determine the line’s fitness for passenger service after successfully resolving a few technical issues, according to a statement from GRCL.

 

In a statement, the Ghana Railway Company Limited said that the industry regulator, the GRDA, had given it the go-ahead to start the shuttle service.

“The general public is asked to be patient with us as we work through any teething issues that may arise during these initial phases of the resumed shuttle service. As a start, a limited speed limit of 35 km/h has been imposed on the movement of the train.

Other GRCL representatives will also be on board the train to hear passengers’ opinions and handle their issues in order to guarantee that the passenger service runs smoothly and to the best satisfaction of our customers. The general public is now guaranteed of the normal reliable shuttle service provided by GRCL, which is comfortable, secure, and on time.
