Teacher and 4 others detained for growing marijuana in a forest reserve

The alleged group leader, Michael Anakpo, a teacher at Donkorkrom Agric Senior High School, and his collaborators were apprehended while on the about 80-hectare cannabis field hidden inside the forest in the Afram Plains North District.

Blewu Nomenyo, Korsi Mawuena, Charles Kale, and Emmanuel Kojo are among the other suspects.

More than ten further suspects were discovered on the cannabis farm, according to the Forestry Commission, but they were able to flee after attempting to fight the forestry officers.

Five of the suspects were apprehended. “The suspects fought and attempted to slaughter the forestry officials with machetes, but some of the forest guards who had staged an ambush in portions of the forest emerged and followed to suspects.”

The District Forestry Manager Richard Amoateng led the forestry operation team that recovered 3 huge bags, 6 tiny sacks, 5 plastic water containers loaded with harvested cannabis, cutlasses, wine laced with cannabis, and many other items.

The gang’s head, Michael Anakpo, teaches at Donkorkrom Agriculture SHS. The cops have been given the suspects. A journalist in Nkawkaw, Osofoba Enock, claimed that the operation team recovered 3 big sacks, 6 mini sacks, 5 barrel containers, all laden with produced cannabis, cutlasses, and many other items.

Additionally, the suspects had raised several cannabis plants for planting.
The group estimated that there were roughly 13 tents on the farm where they were staying.

The cannabis farm is about to be invaded and destroyed by the Forestry Commission.
