Students Loan Trust Fund establishes two new regional offices

In Accra and Kumasi, the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has built two new locations that are supposed to be completely dedicated to the recovery of loans from borrowers.

The goal, according to the SLTF’s Head of Public Relations, George Ferguson Laing, is to increase communication between the SLTF and its borrowers.

We already have 14 zonal offices spread out over the nation, but in order to facilitate loan applications for students, these offices are situated on the campuses of significant higher institutions. On the other hand, the two new regional offices are set up to assist former students who have loans that need to be repaid.

He stated that loan borrowers can stroll into the offices in the airport residential area in Accra and Adum, Nsuase in Kumasi to ask questions or make payments on their loans.

To maximize client convenience, Mr. Laing urged borrowers to use the several electronic payment systems that have been made accessible, including as mobile money, Ghana.gov, and Visa or MasterCard.

According to Mr. Laing, there has been a significant increase in the number of students applying for student loans.

In the interim, he asked previous recipients of the Fund to pay back their debts so that a fresh group of students may benefit.

In accordance with the terms of the Students Loan Trust Fund Act, Mr. Laing also urged other employers to withhold and pay back employees’ loans.

He mentioned that those loan defaulters who had repaid their loans in full but had not made any contributions to the SLTF were to be pursued by the fund.

The SLTF has recently started an extensive recovery push to nudge borrowers toward loan repayment.
