Asamoah Gyan, a Black Stars player, feels that the nation has not given him due recognition. Dancehall artist Stonebwoy has confirmed his feelings.
In a recent interview, Asamoah Gyan expressed his disappointment over the lack of recognition he has received for his years of success as a senior player and former captain of the National Team.
He anticipates that Ghanaians would sing his praises and be understanding of him when he makes the headlines for the wrong reasons.
In response to his requests, Stonebwoy said in an interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz that Asamoah Gyan deserves the credit since, at the height of his career, he popularized football.
In addition to their close friendship, the BHIM president expressed admiration for Asamoah Gyan for his incredible accomplishment, which he felt shouldn’t be overlooked.
“With regard to Asamoah Gyan specifically, he deserves this minute’s focus. It’s crucial that we adopt a different perspective. Simply ensuring that we sing people’s praise and present them with the flowers they deserve must be our sole objective. We definitely need to pay attention to that and recognize people who have worked so hard, broken many records, and represented Ghana, he suggested.
