Stonebwoy, who began his career as a young lad in Ashaiman, has achieved another milestone by being one of the few African performers to be selected by FIFA for the World Cup fan festival.
Sole four African artists were scheduled to play this year, and Stonebwoy was the only brand to represent Ghana on the enormous platform.
The Reggae/Dancehall artist has arrived in Doha, Qatar for his sound check before his performance on Sunday, December 18.
While there, Stonebwoy had a warm welcome from some FIFA security personnel who recognized him right away and sang his praises.
The performer, who shared on Snapchat that he is having the time of his life, ran into a few friends.
When Stonebwoy ran across Jamaican musician Sean Paul, they collaborated on the hit song Most Original, which has now amassed 2.7 million views on YouTube.
Additionally, he delighted in the presence of Nigerian sensation Davido, who would also perform at the awards ceremony.
Before their performances, Davido was seen dancing and chatting with Stonebwoy in a happy mood.
Stonebwoy will play for a good 90 minutes on Sunday in front of more than 40,000 estimated supporters and millions of more watching from their homes, making it one of his career’s pinnacle moments.
