Wiyaala and Shatta Wale performed on the same platform together on Saturday at the Summerstage event in Crotona Park, Bronx, USA.
They were meant to get the citation at the concert’s intermission, but things didn’t go according to plan.
Wiyaala was unable to accept hers as Shatta Wale received his on stage. This is because a member of Shatta Wale’s crew allegedly barred her from joining him on stage to get her citation.
After that, the organizers intended to give her the citation backstage, which didn’t sit well with her. She then resorted to social media to express her displeasure and reject the citation.
“Wiyaala has no intention of accepting the Citation of Merit purportedly given to her by the Bronx Borough unless acceptable and plausible answers are provided. This is what took place, and we’re moving on. Good night, #Roarrrrr, case closed,” she mused in part of her lengthy Facebook message.
In a surprising turn of events, Wiyaala claimed Shatta Wale had contacted her to apologize and explain what transpired.
In her most recent video, she claimed, “My big brother, Shatta Wale, directly got in touch with me and he explained things to me.
“He expressed regret that everything had transpired in that way. He was unaware of what was taking place. I have no doubt that he would have taken action if he had known. He assured me that he would never make an effort to denigrate my work since he holds me in high regard and admires my ability to be both powerful and creative. She pointed.
“Since he never has negative intentions for me, I should let it go and refrain from getting angry with him. He’s always had good intentions for me. My brother emailed me that, then. He gave me a heart emoji, she continued.
