Sarkodie reveals he spent Gh¢440,000 to book the villa for his ‘Labadi’ music video

Recently, the well-known Ghanaian artist debuted his brand-new song, “Labadi,” which features King Promise. The two have frequently worked together on songs in the past and reunited for this album, which has the feel of a relaxing vacation and pleasant living.

Sarkodie’s recognizable fast-paced, rhythmic rhyme introduces “Labadi,” which subsequently features King Promise delivering the hook and chorus. Hip-hop, Afropop, and Amapiano are all present in the song, which has all the elements of a summery Afrobeats production.

His seventh studio album Jamz, which will be published on November 11th, contains the new song. Although the song is called “Labadi,” the music video was directed and co-directed by Capone and Babs Direction. It was filmed on the sunny, tranquil coastline of Mykonos, Greece.

Sarkodie recently admitted to spending about €30,000 (GH440K) to rent the villa where he filmed his Labadi music video in an interview with 3Musiv TV.

He claimed that when he first heard the album, he was motivated by the thought of a boat party with some good friends, just taking some time off to enjoy life on the ocean, and he was not ready to compromise.

There is absolutely no doubt that the rapper is ready to go the extra mile to invest in his craft. “I wanted a certain vibe and I was not willing to compromise.

The record was sent to me by a Nigerian producer. As soon as I heard it, I loved it. Normally I ask the producer what they were feeling when you wrote it, because I had already done the first verse which was talking about beach vibes, so I asked him and he was like I was just thinking about a boat ride and I was like that is exactly what I was thinking”

“The entire production team was therefore physically flown in from London. Everyone had to fly in from elsewhere because none of the females were from Mykonos. We spent five days in the villa, which cost €6000 per night. We had to hire a chef, and we had to pay everyone just for that shot, he said.”

The feel-good song “Labadi” is inspired by the image of a boat party, being surrounded by loved ones, and having a good time.
