Radio presenter among dead in Tamale robbery

A suspected robbery attack on a Mobile Money dealer in Kalariga, a neighborhood of Tamale, claimed the lives of four people, including a local radio personality with Tamale’s Neeisim FM.

According to eyewitnesses, the radio host-turned-mobile money salesman was ambushed and shot at his business center.

Two more people were killed in the incident, including a bystander named Afa Razak and one of the purported robbery suspects.
A fourth victim, a Fulani man riding a motorbike around the location and suspected of being one of the armed thieves, was stopped and lynched, according to reports.

Police in the area have verified the incident and stated that they are working around the clock to apprehend the criminals.

Meanwhile, some journalists and coworkers of the radio host have called the episode as unpleasant and a slap in the face to the city’s security forces.

It’s the second heist in a week, with the first taking place near the mosque of Afa Ajura.

Residents of Tamale, on the other hand, have voiced concern about the city’s ongoing robberies, vehicle thefts, and other criminal activity, and have urged the regional minister and security agencies to act quickly to combat the threat.
