Winfred Osei Kweku Palmer, a well-known football official, has criticized Otto Addo for leaving Joseph Paintsil out of the final 26-man Black Stars team.
The KRC Genk winger, who has seven goals in 18 games for the Belgian team, was not included in Ghana’s final tournament roster.
Speaking about why he left out the former Tema Youth attacker, Otto Addo disclosed that he selected his final 26-man team based on KPIs.
However, Osei Palmer criticized the coach’s choice to bench Paintsil in an interview.
He asserts that Joseph Paintsil, the only Ghanaian player in Europe, has the finest statistics and that Otto Addo lied when he claimed that he called players based on KPIs.
On the Ultimate Sports Show on Asempa FM, he declared, “Otto Addo spoke about KPIs during the release of his final 26 players, but I want to say he is a liar.”
“Statistics have shown that Joseph Paintsil is currently the best player in Ghana.
Semenyo and Kamaldeen Sulemana are not even close to Joseph Paintsil. I want to let Otto Addo know that he lied, and his stance that day indicates that, because he is playing excellent football in Belgium,” he continued.
