Nana Addo denies endorsing presidential candidate in Nigeria elections

He asserted that contrary to what is purportedly written in the letter going around on social media, he never advised Tinubu to seek medical attention for his health.

The President said in a tweet that the letter is wholly phony and malicious.

“My attention has been attracted to a troubling message making the rounds on social media,” he stated. In it, it is claimed that I wrote to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate for 2023, advising him to “give Peter Obi a chance and get treatment for his health.”

“There is not a shred of truth in this; it is wholly untrue and malicious.

“Such a letter to the APC leader has not been prepared by me, and I have no plans to do so. Ghana and Nigeria have had friendly, solid, and enduring relations for many years, and I won’t be the one to meddle in Nigeria’s internal issues or political process.” added Nana Addo.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has now announced the dates for the general elections in Nigeria in 2023; the presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled for February 25 and the governorship and other subnational elections are scheduled for March 11, respectively. The countdown has begun for what will be the seventh straight election since the return to democracy in 1999.

Only 18 political parties would run in the general elections of 2023, according to an earlier INEC announcement.
