Mbappe must have changed dream – Real Madrid president

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says Kylian Mbappe “must have changed his dream” after the France striker rejected a move to the Spanish club.

Instead of joining the La Liga team, Mbappe, 23, chose to sign a new, lucrative three-year contract with Paris St-Germain.

According to Perez, “His goal was to play for Real Madrid.”

“We intended to do it in August of last year, but they wouldn’t let him go; he kept insisting he wanted to play for Madrid and then changed the position 15 days before.”

Expert in Spanish football Guillem Balague claims that months before deciding to stay with PSG, Mbappe had a financial deal in place with Real for a future transfer to Spain.

The agreement was dubbed “scandalous” by Spain’s La Liga in response to the revelation, and the league has since complained to Uefa over what it considers to be Financial Fair Play violations by PSG and Manchester City.

Perez was described in Marca from the interview with El Chiringuito as stating, “This is not the Mbappe I hoped to bring, he is another, who must have altered his dream.”

“He changes, gets pressed, is given different opportunities, and is already another footballer.

“At Real Madrid, nobody has more authority than the team. Although he is a terrific player and has the potential to win more games than others, this is a team sport, and our ideals and principles will never alter.

When asked if he would ever join Real Madrid, Mbappe responded that the possibility of doing so is “never over.”

The Mbappe who was supposed to visit here is not this one, said Perez. If so, I would prefer that he remain at PSG. The dreamer is who I desire.

With France striker Karim Benzema scored 44 goals in 46 games, Real Madrid won La Liga and the Champions League last season.

One of the favorites to win the Ballon d’Or, Perez said the 34-year-accomplishments old’s were the reason they passed on acquiring Erling Haaland, a striker who has since joined Manchester City.

We have the top nine players in the world, so why would we bring in Haaland just to sit him on the sidelines? Perez stated.

We currently have no interest other than to assemble a new team out of our young players and some reinforcement.

The creation of a European Super League, according to Perez, is “still alive” in the interview.

When ideas for the league were first revealed last year, Real Madrid was one of the 12 teams in the projected European Super League.

Juventus, Real Madrid, and Barcelona were the only teams to withdraw amid widespread objections from supporters, elected officials, and governing organizations.
