Let’s solve it in court – Chairman Wontumi replies to UTV’s apology

The only way the case can now be resolved, according to Chairman Wontumi, is in court.

The Management of UTV apologized unconditionally to Chairman Wontumi for Afia Schwarzenegger’s remarks made on the Nana Ama McBrown-hosted United Showbiz program on Friday, July 15, 2022.

The Ghanaian social media pundit who participated in the program and made remarks that UTV later acknowledged were offensive to the country’s business magnate and politician.

Regarding Chairman Wontumi suing her, Afia Schwarzenegger said it. She was sued for claiming to have had sex with the Ashanti region’s NPP regional chairman.

Afia Schwarzenegger addressed the issue, defending her remarks and said that it was beneath her to date a person like Chairman Wontumi.

As a result, Chairman Wontumi decided to also sue the TV station. Additionally, he filed a contempt of court complaint against Nana Ama McBrown, the host of United Showbiz on UTV, Despite Media’s managing director Fadda Dickson, Afia Schwarzenegger, and panelists A Plus and Mr. Logic.

Chairman Wontumi claims that even though the media outlet has apologized, the problem should be resolved in court because it is there.

The Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman stated he wouldn’t discuss the matter since it was in court when speaking to Paul Adom Okyere on “Good Evening Ghana”

When asked if he had seen UTV’s apology, Chairman Wontumi responded, “I don’t want to discuss anything, because the matter is before the court. I don’t discuss the matters that are being litigated in court.”
