According to Ghana’s National Labour Commission (NLC), there are problems with pay and benefits.
Ofosu Asamoah, the executive secretary, said on Adom TV’s Badwam that both the public and private sectors are affected by the crisis.
Even in private institutions, they receive as little as GHS 300. Therefore, salaries in Ghana are often very low. You will be surprised by the results if you go about and talk to gas station employees, bartenders, or anyone else you can think of.
In light of this, Mr. Asamoah has suggested that discussions on allowances and salaries not be restricted to the public sector alone because numerous individuals in the private sector are also suffering.
“We misrepresent the situation when it involves pay and benefits, implying that it solely affects the public sector, but this is untrue.
“Public sector employees just received a 15% Cost of Living Allowance; are they the only ones to benefit? Then, what occurs to people working in private industry? He questioned.
