Ras Kukuu: I’ll sue MTN if my SIM card is disconnected

He claimed to have an agreement with MTN.

He claims that when he first bought his SIM, he was required to present his ID for registration. He also claims that the contract is still in effect.

A self-service application will be released on August 2, 2022, as Minister of Communications and Digitalization Ursula Owusu-Ekuful previously indicated.

She said that instead of waiting in line at any network operator’s office, the app would allow the general public to re-register their sim cards from the comfort of their own homes.

According to her, barring any unforeseen circumstances, the SIM Registration App will be accessible for download on both Android and iOS this week.

“A 5 cedi surcharge will be applied to each registration made through the app.”

Her announcement has, however, prompted some Ghanaians to express their concerns about the situation.

Ras Kukuu stated that he had not registered his SIM card during the ongoing re-registration of SIM cards on Accra FM on Wednesday, August 4, 2022.

“I previously registered, so I haven’t registered my SIM. MTN and I have a contract, “he observed

“Once they disconnect me, I’ll sue MTN because we have a contract, and the contract has not been annulled, so why will you disconnect me when I purchased and used my ID to register the number,” he said.

The deadline for the required SIM card registration process has been moved up to September 30, 2022.
