As he builds a name for himself in the Gambia, the current Artiste of the Year, KiDi, has expanded his musical horizons beyond the borders of Ghana.
When the performer arrived in the nation of West Africa yesterday for his tour, he was greeted by the president.
He was surrounded by energized locals who had seen his convoy circling Serekunda’s streets.
Schoolchildren shared in the celebrations as well. While chasing after his convoy, some students who spotted the celebrity chanted his name.
In preparation for his visit, some devoted followers even printed “Welcome KiDi” t-shirts and raised large billboards.
A fan who met KiDi and was overcome with delight praised him for being an excellent artist and for believing that the Gambians deserved to hear quality music.
He continued, “Here in the Gambia, we love you; ladies love you, kids love you, even our grandparents.” You have made the community proud and left a lasting legacy. You are exceptional.
On Saturday, KiDi will perform a huge concert that will close down Qcity Leisure Theatre.
He is the first musician to sell 50,000 tickets in just three days as of right now.
