Pregnant, is Keke Palmer! On December 3, the actor made the announcement that she is expecting her first child while hosting Saturday Night Live.
“There are some rumors circulating. Keke’s having a baby, Keke’s pregnant, people have been mentioning in my comments,” she informed the live audience. And I want to clear the air by stating that I am!
Palmer then unzipped her suit jacket to reveal a baby bulge below as the crowd applauded. I have to admit, though, that while it’s horrible when people disseminate false information about you online, it’s even worse when it’s true.
“I was working so hard to keep it a secret because I have a lot going on. People keep approaching me and congratulating me. “Shh, can y’all stop,” I say. A liquor sponsorship is on the line for me. When the cheque clears, we can finally get to the baby shower!
She expressed her happiness about this new chapter as she ended the monologue.
She declared, “Honestly, this has been the biggest blessing, and I am very happy.” I’m going to be a mother, guys! I just want to say: Look, I’m 29. Even though some people find it a little strange that I had a baby because I was a child actress. I am older. Ich have sex. I have a house. On January 6, I assaulted the Capitol. Things that adults do, you know! I am joking. I’m glad that you all are aware that I am the same person I have always been.
As a matter of fact, when I first got into comedy and I dreamed of standing on this stage, I asked myself: Keke, who will you be? Will you be like a Maya Rudolph? Eddie Murphy? A Kristen Wiig type? And now that I’m here, I can tell you exactly who I am. Baby, I’m Keke Palmer.”
The 29-year-old and Darius Jackson made their Instagram relationship public in August 2021, but she has since removed the image from her grid. She has stated repeatedly in interviews that she wishes to keep her private life private.
The Nope star spoke candidly about the drawbacks of fame in her July 2022 Glamour cover story, declaring that she entered the entertainment industry “because I love it, not because I wanted to be famous.”
Fame is a side effect I have to deal with, and it can sometimes be good and sometimes awful, she continued. But in the midst of it all, I’m still a person learning how to create boundaries and communicate to others when I’m working and when I’m not. That’s me keeping it real.”
