Over the past weeks, the discussion concerning the sudden death of young Ghanaian activist, Kaaka Macho and the final report on the findings of the Committee has been trending. The report has finally attributed his death to a family feud in the Ejura district. The report has received mixed reactions from some section of Ghanaians who believe the finding is bias and did not capture the full evidence relating to the case.
Outspoken Journalist and Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Mr. Kwesi Pratt has finally waded into the Committee’s finding on the death of the social activist. He has indicated that the report is fraught with some errors and contradictions in it according to his personal findings. Explaining the reason behind his assertion, especially the witness whose statement was disregarded by the Committee, he stated that there were many credible persons in Ejura who could have provided information to help the Committee.
Speaking in an interview on Good Morning Africa show, he registered his displeasure over the Committee’s decision to consider the prime witness as someone who is not credible. Kwesi Pratt also stated that the newspapers are reporting contradicting messages from what was actually contained in the findings. He has implored all Ghanaians to use the original copy of the findings to make their arguments because the newspapers stories appear fabricated.
He said, “What was this whole report about. It says that the guy who gave evidence that Kaaka has received threat from the NPP was not credible and was not credible because he did not admit that he took part in the demonstration. This is unbelievable.”
He added, “It is clear that the evidence he shown was credible. I don’t even know what to say again. I think everybody should read the report itself and stop relying on the newspaper reports. Most of the stories tell us different things. Mark my words, most of them are fabricated.”
