GWCL to cut water supply to parts of Accra; check out affected areas

A 48-hour water service outage to several areas of Accra has been declared by the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL).

The Tema Booster Station’s planned maintenance, according to the GWCL, is what caused the development.

The business noted in a statement that the work will cause a stoppage from Wednesday, December 7, to Friday, December 9, 2022.

A heavy-duty pump will be installed by engineers at the Tema Booster Station, which will increase the amount of water distributed throughout the area, according to the statement.

Tema, Industrial Area, Baatsonaa, Coca-Cola, Kasapreko, Lashibi, Klagoon, Sakumono, Ashaiman, Adjei-Kojo, Borteyeman, and Santoe will be among the impacted regions.

Others include the neighborhoods of Trassaco, Afresco Estate, Manet Court, Regimanuel Estates, O’Reilly Senior High School, Airport Hills, Martey Tsuru, and those nearby.

To prepare for any scenario, GWCL claimed to have rented water tankers to deliver water to vital service providers including hospitals and schools.

“Consumers in the impacted areas have also been urged to stockpile water while it is currently flowing. The statement warned that the water supply will restart as soon as the task was completed.
