A Form Three student who died in the school’s compound on Wednesday afternoon in what is believed to be a suicide case cast a somber pall over Tala Girls’ High School in Nairobi.
A police report obtained by Nairobi News states that the 16-year-old girl’s body was discovered hanging from a dormitory roof.
According to the authorities, the pupil was previously penalized for allegedly taking a package of pencils and Sh2,500 (approximately GHS200) from another student.
According to reports, the girl accepted responsibility for the theft and pleaded for permission to return the things to the dorm.
The teacher instructed the kid to find the money she had stashed away during recess and hand it over to the office staff of the school.
The dorm prefect allegedly gave the student the keys to the residence, but she never showed. The deputy principal went in search of her as a result of this.
“The deputy principal became suspicious when the pupil took so long to return. The student’s lifeless body was found hanging from the dormitory’s roof when the teacher and three other students went to the dormitory, according to a police report filed at Tala Police Station.
After that, the teen’s body was sent to a hospital mortuary.
