Ghana Police Service: Police didn’t break into the boss of Trasacco’s house.

Claims that certain police personnel broke into the home of Ernesto Taricone, of Trasacco Limited, have been denied by the Ghana Police Service.

The police went to Mr. Ernesto Taricone’s home to carry out an arrest order after receiving information that a suspect was there, the Service said.

The statement read, “When the Police arrived at the residence, they knocked on the door and someone came to respond to them and informed them that Ian Morris was not at the household at the time.

As a result, Morris received a message from the police asking him to come into their office.

This information can be found in a statement from August 28, 2022.

“The facts are that Police conducted investigation into alleged land guard activities at Adjiriganor, a suburb of Accra,” the statement continued, “which led to the arrest of five suspects, Akuribilla Annanfo, Razak Seidu, Abdulla Abdul Fatau, Baah Samuel, and Francis Agbevedor, and the retrieval of a Mossberg pump action gun from them.”

“The accused were on August 26, 2022, arraigned before Circuit Court ‘9’ in Accra on accusations of Conspiracy to Commit Crime and Engaging in Land Guard Activities,” the Police Service reported. They were placed in police custody by the court and ordered to appear again on August 30, 2022.

“During the course of the inquiry, it was discovered that the suspects’ unlawful activities were contracted out to Mr. Morris Ian of Trasacco Limited. As a result, the court issued a bench warrant for his arrest.

The Police went to the Trasacco boss’ home on the basis of this warrant.

According to the statement, police will keep looking for Morris in order to carry out the bench warrant.

Since the Police Service does not have commandos, the statement ended, “we call on the public to dismiss and treat with disdain the unsubstantiated charges of forceful entry against the Police and the supposed employment of commandos.”
