For allegedly stealing plantain, a 30-year-old Ghanaian man was stoned to death.

At Mankesim in the Central Region's Mfantseman Municipality, a man accused of stealing a plantain was allegedly stoned to death.

Some witnesses told adomonline.com that they found the body of the dead, whose name was only supplied as Caleb, tied to a palm tree.
Cephas Arthur, Assembly member for Mankesim Netro Electoral Region, verified the occurrence and added that three persons had been found dead in the area in the previous week.

He expressed his displeasure with the recent spike in crime in the region. He also exhorted the kids in the neighborhood to pursue work and refrain from stealing.

It is yet unknown who committed the immediate injustice or whether the matter was submitted to the police for investigation.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Ekow Arthur, the Assemblyman for Nkusukum Electoral Region, has urged the Mankesim Divisional Police Command to strengthen patrols in the area to prevent similar tragedies.

Kwabena Ebo, a resident of Ayisakro, a hamlet near Axim in the Western Region’s Nzema East Municipality, was charged with human trafficking in violation of sections 2(1) and (2) of the Human Trafficking Act 694 of 2001.

Her Majesty Abigail Anima Asare, the judge who ruled over Ebo’s case at Takoradi Circuit Court B, said the defendant deserved a harsh sentence to serve as a deterrence to others.

Inspector Robert Yawson, the prosecutor, praised the convict’s sentencing.

Inspector Yawson informed the court that on Thursday, March 3, the accused offered to sell his 16-year-old biological son (name withheld) for GH500,000 to one Francis Odasani, also known as Nana Tano Kwaw, a well-known fetish priest in the region.
