Fameye: I see myself as a storyteller, not a musician

The Grammy-winning singer claims that after writing multiple songs with motivational and inspirational lyrics, he now views himself as a literary merchant.
Fameye said in a news interview that he cares more about having a positive impact on people’s lives through his music than being a simple celebrity.
“A storyteller is how I see myself.
Making music is more about my experience and the message I want to share with my fans, for me, than it is about being a celebrity, he said.
Although he is a storyteller, he continued, “Whenever I am writing my music, I don’t eye the Songwriter of the Year prize.
I just want to share a message with the audience that they can apply to their daily life.
Fameye claims that instead of focusing on creating a distinct musical genre, he instead aims to create a brand that is comparable to that of well-known artists like Daddy Lumba and others.
I don’t think of myself as a purely Highlife musician since I think I’m still figuring out who I am in this particular genre, but I do see myself as a flexible act.
“I want to leave a lasting impression in Ghanaian music circles like Amakye Dede, Ebo Taylor, and Daddy Lumba. Among others, Okomfour Kwadee has done.
