ECG resolves interruption challenge with purchase of prepaid power

The power distribution firm, according to ECG, said that customers who were having trouble purchasing credits can now do so at the terminating points.

The Electricity Company of Ghana stated in a statement on October 1, 2022, “The issue with the 3rd Party Vending Points has been handled. We desire to update all stakeholders, especially our valued customers on our prepayment metering system.”

Customers should purchase power credits at their local vending locations and ECG District offices, starting tomorrow, Sunday, October 2, 2022, from 9.00 am to 4:00 pm, it urged.

The intermittent power outage was previously attributed to a technical issue, and ECG is putting up a lot of effort to fix the problem.

After a system outage that left consumers stranded, the electric service provider is now able to sell credit at its district offices.

Customers can purchase power from ECG district offices in the Greater Accra, Central, Eastern, Western, and Volta Regions.

Customers on ECG’s prepaid metering systems received assurances from the company that their staff was “working gradually to rectify the technological fault which hindered the purchase of electricity.”

Others electrical users have started calculating their losses, and some claim that their businesses have suffered as a result of being unable to buy electricity.
