The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has expressed regret for the difficulties some customers have encountered after the PURC-approved pricing went into effect.
The power distribution firm acknowledged in a statement that BOT, ALPHA, and E-CASH prepayment meters’ date functionality drifts caused them to respond inaccurately to customers’ purchases of power.
However, according to the company, the “technical challenge has been recognized and resolved accordingly.”
Nevertheless, after purchasing electricity, prepaid consumers’ meters reach negative amounts.
ECG states that technicians will go to the troubled location to fix the problem.
“To address all issues relating to the prepaid meters, the ECG Help Desks in all of our district offices will be open during the week and on weekends.
The business stated, “Once again, we sincerely apologize for the difficulty given to our affected, dear clients.”
