Chelsea closing in on signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona

The Blues have been widely connected with the former Arsenal forward during their search for a Romelu Lukaku replacement this summer, and a deadline-day transfer appears imminent.

According to The Athletic, a deal for a part-exchange transfer in which Chelsea would pay €7.5 million (£6.5 million) and include Alonso is almost finalized.

According to reports, Aubameyang will sign a two-year contract with a third-year option.

Unexpectedly, the 33-year-jaw old’s was fractured during the Sunday burglary at his Barcelona home, according to the site.

The striker could miss several weeks of action as a result of the injury, which he incurred while attempting to defend his family.

The international player from Gabon only recently switched from Arsenal to Barca, and his contract at Camp Nou runs through 2025.

He had a significant effect in Spain, where he scored 13 goals in 24 games across all competitions, but it now appears he will return to the Premier League quickly.

Aubameyang has a solid track record in England; he scored 68 goals in 128 appearances for the Gunners in the English Premier League and shared the Golden Boot in 2018–19 with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane after finding the back of the net 22 times.

He left the Emirates with an FA Cup winner’s medal and will now be charged with leading Chelsea to significant success.

This summer, Thomas Tuchel’s team was exceptionally active in the transfer market, spending a league-high £252 million on seven new players.

The most recent addition was Wesley Fofana, a defender who signed a seven-year contract on Wednesday, moving from Leicester City in a move that might have cost up to £75 million.

Due to the lack of natural attackers in his team following Lukaku’s return to Inter Milan on loan, Kai Havertz and Raheem Sterling have so far filled the void.

After the first five Premier League matches, Chelsea has had a mixed start, winning twice, drawing once, and losing twice. This puts them in ninth place, eight points behind league leader Arsenal.
