Callum Hudson-Odoi breaks silence on switching nationality to Ghana

Callum Hudson-Odoi, a forward for Chelsea, has responded to the idea of maybe turning down England to play for Ghana in the future.

The winger who is now on loan at Bayer Leverkusen has made three appearances for Team England.

When asked if negotiations with Ghana had taken place, Hudson-Odoi responded to BBC Sport Africa, “Nothing I would say at this time on TV, I would want to tell you, but I couldn’t say.”

“At the moment, I’m simply trying to do the best I can in this situation. Future events are always unpredictable.

“Obviously, I’ve been thinking about the Ghana-England situation for a long. But I believe that at this time, the emphasis was more on coming here, getting in shape, playing plenty of games, and simply feeling like myself

“Right now my mind is just open.”

In the current season, Callum Hudson-Odoi has made nine appearances for the German club but has yet to score.
