Black Sherif is the voice of African youth – Akon

More world-renowned figures are becoming aware of Black Sherif’s skills. He is a superstar in Ghana.

The most recent celebrity to discover life in the Konongo-born artist’s talent is American musician Akon.

The business tycoon claimed that his Malian friend had sold him on Blacko’s music the moment he heard it.

The singer of the song “Lonely” was talking on BBC Radio 1Xtra.

He had no question that Black Sherif is on to something big because of the jump, the anguish, the hunger, and the struggle he heard in Black Sherif’s voice.

Since then, the Senegalese-American musician and songwriter says he has become a fan and may eventually sign the 20-year-old performer.

“I’m a huge fan of Black Sherif, he reminded me of the energy of myself when I first came out, you could literally hear the pain, the struggle and the challenges in his voice whenever he sings.”

His interpretation of Blacko’s message is that it captures the youthful aspirations for success on the African continent.

He today serves as the voice of Africa’s young,  he added.

Black Sherif recently performed at his first-ever concert in the UK, which was followed by a performance at the 2020 MOBO Awards that was hailed as electrifying.

At the Ghana Music Awards UK, he was selected as the Artiste of the Year for 2022.

He has worked with notable figures in the music industry such as Burna Boy, Stormzy, and Sarkodie.

The diversity, fervor, and complex message of Blacko’s album The Villain I Never Was have also garnered favorable public reviews.
