At the iconic Madison Square performance, Burna Boy performs “Second Sermon.”

Burna Boy has taken Black Sherif's sermon to New York's famed Madison Square Garden.

The Nigerian singer performed at the multi-purpose indoor stadium in the center of New York City, which has a capacity of 20,789 people, last night. Burna Boy becomes the first African performer to sell out the famed arena with this performance.
Burna Boy opted to play the remix of Black Sherif’s ‘Second Sermon,’ which he featured on, in front of his over 20,000 admirers at the performance.

This isn’t the first time Burna Boy has shown his admiration for Black Sherif’s music. The Nigerian musician has uploaded footage of himself rocking to the ‘Second Sermon’ duet on many times prior to its release.

Following the release of Black Sherif’s ‘Second Sermon Remix,’ which features, the Grammy-winning musician moved to social media to announce that the Ghanaian singer will be joining him on tour.

Burna Boy said that he will be on tour with the young Ghanaian singer in response to the song’s release. Burna Boy tweeted, “OBLACKSHERIE IS COMING ON TOUR WITH ME.”

He noted in an Instagram story that “SECOND SERMON REMIX FEATURING ME(BURNA BOY) OUT NOW!! YOU BETTER LEARN THE WHOLE SONG BEFORE COMING TO ANY MY SHOWS. YES THAT INCLUDES THE TWIA GHANAIAN LANGUAGE) PARTS”.

On Monday, December 20, 2021, Burna staged his homecoming event in Lagos, with a number of artists playing. Black Sherif was one of the performers that shared the stage with the African giant, and the two put on a show for the crowd.
