Asamoah Gyan: I must work hard to be called up for the Black Stars for the 2022 World Cup

Gyan intimated last week in an interview with the BBC that he wanted to rejoin the Black Stars after a three-year hiatus.

The 36-year-old acknowledged that before making a choice, he must get his body in shape and become match-fit.

Gyan reiterated his position on the Dentaa Show despite conflicting reactions from Ghanaians following his interview.

“Anything is possible, but I prefer to deserve the call-up. I want to start competing in games. Anything may be there. He speculated that it might be in the Ghana Premier League.

Before I even consider attending the World Cup, I want to see myself playing every week for a team.

Since leaving Legon Cities at the conclusion of the 2020–21 season, Gyan has not played any professional football.

Along with Uruguay, South Korea, and Portugal, Ghana was placed in Group H.

The 2022 World Cup is slated to begin on November 20 and run until December 18.
