Asamoah Gyan: Ghanaians as ‘HYPOCRITE’ for questioning the Black Stars winning bonus

In recent years, the controversy surrounding payments made to Black Stars players has gained attention.

During international games, winning bonuses of $10,000 and $5000 are given to players.

But the former Black Stars captain asserts that footballers must receive compensation for their labor, just as employees typically go on strike to collect their unpaid wages.

Gyan said that because football is their vocation, they should be compensated well.

“Bonus payments are made to the national team. The veteran striker claimed on the Dentaa Show that “one journalist comes up with a narrative and people jump on it.”

“This is our career; as a football player, I must be compensated. Why do doctors walk out of work? Only when footballers receive bonuses do you attack them; otherwise, you go on strike because you are not being paid.

“Those same individuals will convince you that you have a case behind the scenes. However, they show hypocrisy on social media, the 37-year-old continued.

Before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar later this year, Gyan hopes to be called up to the Black Stars.
