A victim of the explosion at Apiate in January has passed away.
According to the Apiate Disaster Relief Committee, Ante Ama Nsowaa, age 59, passed away on Wednesday morning.
She had previously spent months in the hospital recovering from injuries she had incurred in the explosion.
On August 29, she reportedly had her left leg amputated at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital as well.
The Committee claims that it is heartbroken by the news, especially because they had thought she would make a full recovery from the treatment.
The committee also sent the family their condolences.
The explosion that left over 14 people dead and 155 people with various degrees of injuries also affected 954 people, including the late Ama Nsowaa.
On Thursday, a motorcycle and a third vehicle were involved in an accident with a truck carrying mining explosives that happened close to an energy transformer.
The government, among other things, opened a thorough investigation into the incident after the accident.
