On Sunday morning, two siblings were killed by a speeding vehicle when the driver lost control near Ejisu-Besease.
Around 8:40 a.m., the accident is believed to have happened.
The car was attempting to overtake another vehicle when it veered off the road, according to sources.
The victims, Hamidu Mohammed, 62, and Masawudu Nalko, 40, died at the Ejisu Government Hospital shortly after arriving.
Abdul Rahman Mohammed, 50, a third casualty with serious injuries, has been taken to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Giving further details, eyewitnesses say the Honda CR-V vehicle with registration number AS 2221-22,
which was being driven by one Justice Adjoyi, aged 33, was heading towards Konongo-Ejisu when the incident occurred. While trying to overtake another vehicle, Justice Adjoyi, is believed to have noticed an approaching car, causing him to veer off and knock down the three male pedestrians by the edge of the road.
The vehicle also ran into a stationary Toyota Corolla with registration number DV 3016 F-22.
Following the deaths of the two men, the whole Besease Zongo village is in grief.
When Nhyira FM visited the scene, which was only five meters from from the brothers’ home, family members of the victims were observed sobbing excessively.
Meanwhile, the deceased’s body has been placed in the morgue of the Juaben Government Hospital for an autopsy.
Justice Adjoyi, the driver, is also in police custody, and the two accident automobiles have been confiscated.
ASP Francis Mireku, Commander of the Ejisu Division Motor, Traffic, and Transport Department, acknowledged the accident but declined to provide any details.
