Algerian footballer dies hours after scoring a goal in match against Congo

Billel Ben Hamouda, a midfielder for Algeria’s USM Algiers, has died.

The 24-year-old was killed in a vehicle accident on his way home from a friendly match for the Fennec Foxes versus the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Hamouda even scored in the game on Thursday night, which ended in a 3-0 triumph.
The death of the attacking midfielder was verified by the Algerian Football Federation in a tweet.

On Thursday night, while coming home with a buddy to his house in Hajout, around 70 kilometers from Algiers’ “July 5” stadium, the footballer was involved in an automobile accident.
