Liz Truss, the recently elected prime minister of the United Kingdom (UK), has received congratulations from President Akufo-Addo.
The President sends Liz Truss his best wishes just one day after her victory.
On Tuesday, September 6, President Akufo-Addo expressed his desire for a positive relationship in a tweet.
“I wish her well in her job and look forward to working with her to strengthen the connections of friendship and collaboration between Ghana and the United Kingdom. She has my best wishes.
“For us in Ghana, we remember the positive, crucial part she played, in her capacity as Trade Secretary, in the signing of a £1.2 billion trade agreement between Ghana and the UK last year, which has strengthened the ties between our two nations.
The Conservative Party leadership contest was won by Liz Truss on Tuesday.
With more than 80,000 votes, she defeated Rishi Sunak in a competition.
I congratulate warmly Rt. Hon. Lizz Truss (@trussliz) on her election as the leader of the Conservative Party and as the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. 1/5
