Akufo-Addo attends US-Africa Leaders’ Summit in Washington

In response to US President Joe Biden’s invitation, Ghana’s delegation to the US-Africa Leaders’ Summit was led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Sunday, December 11, 2022.

It is anticipated that the Summit “will underline the significance of U.S.-Africa relations and enhanced cooperation on shared global issues” in addition to “show the United States’ continuing commitment to Africa.”

The First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchey, the Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, the Minister for Works and Housing, Francis Asenso Boakye, MP, the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, MP, as well as officials from the Presidency and Foreign Ministry, were all present.

On Saturday, December 17, 2022, the President will return to Ghana. In his absence, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President, will carry out the President’s duties in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution.
