Afia Schwarzenegger sentenced to prison with hard labour over Wontumi’s defamation suit

The Ghanaian social media pundit was given a 10-day jail term, according to court sources.

This is related to allegations made by Afia Schwarzenegger, who strongly rejected them, that she had an affair with the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party on UTV’s United Showbiz program.

He subsequently filed a lawsuit for slander and brought Afia Schwarzenegger, Nana Ama McBrown, the panelists Kwame A-Plus and Mr. Logic, as well as the host of the United Showbiz program, to court.

Tema, a socialite from Ghana, was found guilty and given a sentence for contempt by the High Court “B” on Thursday, December 1. Afia Schwarzenegger received a 10-day jail sentence, according to a report from happyghana.com.

Speaking on UTV, Afia is said to have described the court suit as useless and insisted that she had had sex with the applicant throughout their 16-month amorous relationship. She also used unprintable words on the applicant (Chairman Wontumi) on the same show.

Kwame A-Plus and Mr. Logic, the other respondents, have each been fined 5,000 penalty units (60,000 Cedis) as a result of their participation in the conversation while being aware that the matter was subjudicae (pending before the court) and their remarks that appeared to touch on the merits of the case.

Their actions were determined to be detrimental to the court case and intended to tarnish the administration of justice.

Because he didn’t take part in the conversation, Fada Dickson, the MD of United Television, was cleared and freed, and Afia Schwar has a bench warrant out for her arrest.
