The Bank of Ghana (BoG) announced that it would shortly take action against these illegal loan companies whose actions constitute a threat to the banking industry.
The bank issued a statement warning the public not to do business with any unregistered loan providers, saying it was taking action against these organizations.
The Banks and Specialized Deposit-Taking Institutions Act is being broken, according to the BoG, by the actions of these unlicensed loan providers.
