In response to the Black Stars’ elimination from the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has released a statement.
The Black Stars suffered a 2-3 loss to Portugal in their opening match before defeating South Korea 3-2 and Uruguay 2-0 in their final group match.
Ghana won’t participate in the tournament’s next round as a result of the loss to the South American team.
To advance to the Round of 16 in Group H, Ghana needed to win against Uruguay in the final round of games, but the African nation fell to the South Americans.
The PFAG thinks the Black Stars did a good job of representing Ghana in Qatar despite their dismal performance in Doha.
The announcement said, in part, “You showed us innumerable acts of heroism and sacrifice, and this gives us all a renewed hope going into the future.”
Ghana earned three points and placed last in Group H.
