2022 BECE, WASSCE: Government owes WAEC GHS 21m (Listen)

Due to the government’s massive debt to the West African Examination Council, parents and students who anticipate taking the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in 2022 may be dissatisfied (WAEC).

The Minority has made hints that the debt has significantly impacted WAEC’s activities through its Ranking Member, Dr. Clement Apaak.

The government owes WAEC GHS21 million, which the minority is urging it to pay as quickly as feasible.

WAEC would require GHS 96 million to be able to organize the 2022 exams, according to Dr. Apaak, the Builsa South Member of Parliament (MP).

He has pushed the administration to disburse funds to that end as a result.

In related news, the MP claims that the government owes the Buffer Food Stock, Capital Grants, and food in schools that will only last for two weeks.
